Halberstadt becomes the hub for the worldwide supply of spare parts for Mercedes-Benz trucks.
Fuso's parts supply in Europe will also be covered by Halberstadt in future. In a three-stage logistics process, the new location serves around 20 regional logistics centers worldwide, which in turn supply the regional dealers with parts. This means that almost 3,000 vehicle dealers in over 170 countries around the world will be supplied.
The new building in Halberstadt's Industriepark Ost will have a gross floor area of around 270,000 square meters with around 260,000 square meters of logistics space in the first stage of construction. This will create up to 450 qualified jobs on site.
Following further construction stages and the takeover of additional activities in connection with global parts logistics, up to 600 jobs are to be created at the site in the future.
The new logistics site is being planned for CO₂-neutral operation from the outset, and the energy concept completely dispenses with fossil fuels.
