The Kitsuregawa Proving Ground was commissioned in 1980 to provide test course facilities for validating the development and testing work. The capabilities of the facility have been boosted since 1980 with the addition of an anti-lock brake test circuit, an EMI testing wing, engine research wing, and drivetrain component testing wing.
To anticipate and meet future needs and requirements, the facility is currently engaged in advance research into engines and other components, vehicle on-road testing, as well as bench testing of function, performance, durability and reliability. The facility's high-speed circuit is one of the largest in the world for trucks and buses.
